Screen4life and Tesco Pharmacy

28482_238.jpg28482_1911.jpgUsing the latest skin imaging technology developed and clinically tested in the UK, the screening can identify pre-cancerous activity taking place under the surface of the skin. The procedure is non-invasive, painless and harmless.

Penny Beck, Superintendent Pharmacist at Tesco comments; “We are constantly looking to provide solutions to the health risks and problems faced by the nation today. It’s very clear that skin cancer is on the rise. We feel this service gives people the opportunity to have a check up at their own convenience in one of our 240 pharmacy stores and at very little cost.”

Customers receive their results immediately after the scan and those with suspicious signs are sent to a consultant team. If required, the customer will be asked to see their GP for an immediate referral to a specialist. All patients will receive advice and Cancer Research UK leaflets on how to protect themselves in the sun.

Timothy Dodd, Managing Director of Screen4Life concludes: “Skin cancer is the fastest growing form of cancer in the UK. The good news is that if skin cancer is diagnosed in the early stages it can be treated very effectively using today’s technologies. We urge people who have any concerns to make an appointment, we’re sure people will be surprised how quick and simple the procedure is. We are delighted to be working with Tesco Pharmacy to make skin cancer screening accessible and convenient.”

This is excellent, I think people would benefit greatly from this technology - and now that its availabe in local stores such as Tesco people can be flexible and comfortable about getting themselves scanned.

Just seen this in Tesco magazine .

Checked their website as instructed but the link doesn’t work.

Phoned the given number and not in 240 stores but only in London.

    The magazine should say this

Please let me know when there will be appointments available again for the £45 full mole check at Tesco as I have just telephoned but the voicemail states the summer clinic is full.

Will there be further screening at Tesco Pharmacy as when I rang a recorded message said it was full, and there was no further information or means of finding any information.
I thought by the leaflet it was going on all the time.
How can I find out when these screenings take place as it was only luck I saw the leaflet in Tesco.
